Q. Why do I have to talk to a specific salesperson to get a price?
A. We provide register tape to stores for free or at a discounted price. Because sales volume and the amount of tape we provide varies from store to store the price of an ad varies from store to store to cover our costs. We do not have a one-price-fits-all mentality. Smaller stores cost less and larger stores cost more because they have a larger customer base and we distribute more ads. Our salespeople have an intimate knowledge of the stores they sell and can give you accurate pricing based on that knowledge. Helpful hint: Salespeople can offer volume discounts for multiple stores and incentives for extended contracts. We also offer double-size ads for 1 1/2 times the cost of a single size ad.
Q. How long will my ad run?
A. All of our stores are supplied with 3 months worth of register tape. This amount is calculated from the previous 3 months of usage at that store. If there is a spike in sales volume at a store (which we calculate) it is possible for the register tape to run out early. If the store runs out more than 10 days early we will re-print more ad rolls. Audit cards are sent to the store managers to track usage and prevent shortages throughout a 3 month run. We try to supply as close to 3 months worth of tape as possible without throwing tape (and advertisers money) away at the end.
Q. How can I pay for my ad?
A. We can accept a business or personal check, Visa, Mastercard or Discover.
Q. Why can't I change my offer every month?
A. We print and ship all of the register tape that a store will use for 3 months at one time.
Q. When will my ad expire?
A. That's up to you. You can set your ad to expire on the last day of the run, 15 days out, 1 month out or have no expiration at all...whatever you prefer.
Q. How many other businesses will be on the register tape with me?
A. That depends on how many ads are sold on your run. The maximum is 17 advertisers, then the register tape repeats. Your ad is guaranteed to repeat every 24 inches or less. Unlike other companies that sell as many ads as they can, diluting each ads impact, we only sell 17 ads per store.
Q. Do I have to place a discount offer on my ad?
A. No. We have many advertisers that just like the exposure of our advertising. Helpful hint: Placing an offer with a redeemable coupon on your ad allows you to track the success of your program.
Q. What should I do if I go to the store and don't see my ad?
A. If other ads are on the tape, have the cashier advance the tape enough to see the 17 ad repeat. If you still don't see your ad call our office immediately at 800-962-6843.
If the tape is blank make sure you are at a main front-end register before calling the office. Also check 1 or 2 other registers to make sure it isn't an isolated incident. The success of this program is running printed tape not blank tape.
Q. Why isn't my ad at the pharmacy, gas pumps or liquor store?
A.
We ask our stores not to run printed tape at the customer service desk and gas station where people get very short receipts or no receipts at all, or at the pharmacy where people keep their prescription receipts for tax purposes. We also ask our stores to not use printed tape in their liquor stores as some of our customers do not want to be associated with the sale of liquor. The point is to have people see and use your ad, not just throw it away or store it away.
Q. Is there a hefty graphic design fee for designing or making changes to my ad?
A. No. Graphic design is included in the price of your ad. We do ask that you keep your corrections to a maximum of one round whenever possible.
Q. Can I get a cheaper price if I design the ad myself?
A. No. Production preparation is still necessary if you design your own ad.
Q. When will I receive a proof of my ad?
A. You will receive a mailed proof of your ad the first week of the month before your start date. You will have several business days to make any changes free of charge. Helpful hint: You will receive a faster proof by requesting e-proofing besides the proof you receive in the mail.
Q. What should I do if my proof is incorrect?
A. Call 888-416-2480 or email graphics@advantagetape.com immediately. Helpful hint: Don't set your proof down for later lest you forget about it and your proof does not get fixed before printing has started. We can only make corrections if we hear from you.
